In a conversation with the 2014 Catholic Charities Gala Chairs Patrice and Scott Brickman, Patrice said, “I learned early on that either you are part of the community or you aren't.”

And on the evening of Saturday, April 12, we were reminded of that as a sense of community and service filled the ballroom with over 900 guests at the Gala and After Party. By the end of the night, over $1.6 million was raised for the 65-plus programs at Catholic Charities.

Every year our gala (which is our biggest fundraising event) brings supporters dressed in their best tuxes and ball gowns, elegant decorations and electrifying music. Although it’s always a great party, it’s also a chance for us to say ‘thank you’ and to show our donors how our programs actually work in people’s lives.

Here are some of the night's moments captured:

A highlight from this year’s event was Faustino Venzor, a current client with a very bright future. His story was told in a short video and then he gave a few remarks live to the room, including introducing his wife, sharing the great blessing of their newborn son and announcing he would be studying at an Ivy League school this Fall!

Hearing and seeing Faustino speak about the support he received from psychiatrists, case managers and job coaches at Catholic Charities Behavioral Health Programs (previously Anchor Mental Health) gave each person in the room the chance to get to know just one of the 116,000 lives we reached last year.

Take a moment and enjoy the video!
